Hayley Bennett

Bio

Hayley Bennett is a freelance science writer who has been covering biology, chemistry, health and the environment for going on 20 years. She studied biology at the University of Warwick and then science communication at the University of the West of England. Alongside her freelance writing, Hayley has worked in communications teams for the Alan Turing Institute and the European Commission’s Science for Environment Policy news service. She is the author of two books: The Big Questions in Science and 50 Chemistry Ideas You Really Need to Know. And she edited The Story of Science by Michael Moseley. She has also had an eclectic career in creative science communication projects, curating science-inspired content for a stage at Green Man Festival, and developing podcasts and other events. In her spare time, she runs up hills, knits, and drinks way too many flat whites.
