Covid-19: The story of a pandemic

In March 2020, the World Health Organization declared covid-19 a pandemic. In a year since the first case of infection with this new coronavirus was reported in China in December 2019, SARS-CoV-2 killed over 2.5 million people and infected at least 115 million. We look back at the key dates in a year that changed the world forever.

From the first reported cases to the isolation and identification of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, through to the rapid development of vaccines and their eventual roll out, this is the story of the covid-19 pandemic.
